Robert Allan Monroe

In 1958 Robert Monroe, a Virginia businessman, began to have those experiences that were to become legendary among scholars of parapsychology but not only among them: without meaning to and without being able to foresee it, Bob Monroe found himself leaving his physical body and traveling, by means of a “second body” (energetic) to places completely foreign to the physical reality he knew.

Initially he was frightened and worried, thought he was going crazy or sick to justify what was happening to him. He was a pragmatic, intelligent, successful man who loved life and wanted to understand what was happening to him. He relied on medicine and science by doing a lot of medical examinations and research. They told him that he was healthy and had no disease but rather a gift! A psychologist friend of his told him about people in India who only after more than 10 years of meditation, study and discipline were able to access the same “out-of-body” experiences.

Reassured that he would not die and that he was sound in body and mind he wanted to understand more, have scientific explanations and get to the bottom of the phenomenon. He used his curiosity, determination and money to establish a group of researchers to help him find explanations and scientific foundations for these experiences.

After several years of research work, he was able to find answers and explanations; he even developed sound technology to make access to these experiences and greater brain potential accessible to anyone!

Robert Monroe discovered and patented the Hemi-Sync® technology, capable of recreating the conditions of access in total safety, to different states of consciousness and extra-ordinary experiences for anyone.

He founded a non-profit organization “The Monroe Institute,” an institute dedicated to human research and education, where he would continue the development of technology and its applications in everyday life and in exploring human potential. He designed the Gateway Voyage and other training programs to enable people to directly experience Hemi-Sync® technology and its benefits.

Since the 1970s thousands of people have attended these courses having experiences that have enabled them to improve their awareness and their lives. Today this man is gone to other dimensions of existence, leaving it to his Institute to spread his discoveries and their applications to all interested people.
